Current HVAC solutions with Smart Vents allow and restrict airflow into particular rooms/areas to regulate the ambient temperature according to a local thermostat. In this environment, When significant number of Smart Vents are closed, the fan motor running at a constant speed increases pressure within the HVAC duct, which result in premature duct failure.

Tamind designed a system involving programmable air vents and individual temperature monitoring using Bluetooth Low Energy. Using this system, each room can dynamically have its own temperature set and maintained, regardless of room size. The total load (number of vents open or closed) required across the HVAC system is relayed to the main controller in real time, which in turn adjusts the fan motor speed, eliminating both wasteful motor usage and the possibility of the HVAC duct damage.
