The current elevator systems in India are not optimally suited for regular operation due to constant power outages, a lack of speed control, a cumbersome network of wires in the elevator shaft and proprietary controllers without debugging capabilities.

Tamind addressed all of these concerns with a simple, robust, and cost-effective implementation. By introducing an AC motor inverter driver paired with an intelligent controller, communicating through a custom RS-485/Serial communication protocol. Speed control and DC braking are attained without replacing the AC induction motor to a new DC motor. A solar powered battery backup system was added as a renewable source of reserve energy to help ensure functionality during frequent power outages.
